Arkansas' Congressional Delegation Works During August Recess
Wednesday, September 6, 2017 7:00 AM

Lawmakers covered a lot of territory and were booked early for their time during the August recess, said Ron Harrod, Arkansas Credit Union Association lobbyist.

For instance, Congressman French Hill, who is on the Financial Services Committee, addressed the Little Rock Political Animals Club on Aug. 30.

"Hill is a friend to credit unions and a former banker," Harrod said. "He understands the rules, regulations, and regulatory burdens. He also believes Dodd-Frank created 'too small to succeed' instead of 'too big to fail.'”

Hill is co-chair of Skilled Workforce Services and represents the 2nd Congressional District, which includes Pulaski, Saline, Perry, Faulkner, White, Conway, and Van Buren counties.

Also meeting during the August recess were the Joint Committee on Economic and Tax Policy, co-chaired by Sen. Eddie Joe Williams and Rep. Laurie Rushing, and the Tax Reform and Relief Legislative Task Force, co-chaired by Sen. Jim Hendren and Rep. Lane Jean.
