AMOCO's Winter Wonderland for Assisted Living Residencies

AMOCO's Winter Wonderland
Hope Village residents with Santa and Faithful Friends.

On Dec. 15, AMOCO Federal Credit Union hosted a holiday luncheon at their Friendswood Branch in Texas City for two assisted living residencies, Independence Village and Hope Village.

AMOCO’s annual holiday luncheon is an exciting event for residents, or "villagers." With help from volunteers (Mario’s Catering, Ice Express, Faithful Friends, and Santa, played by AMOCO Board Director Roger McCrary), AMOCO made some unforgettable moments for this year's villagers.

Ice Express created a winter wonderland in front of AMOCO’s branch by blowing in 1,000 pounds of snow. After several snowball fights, the villagers enjoyed lunch provided by Mario’s Catering, and Santa and his helpers (AMOCO employees and volunteers) passed out surprise gifts to each of the villagers.

Presents and snow weren’t the only surprises of the day. The most heartwarming surprise was a visit from the dogs of Faithful Friends. Faithful Friends is a group that uses their service pets to bring cheer and a furry friend to those who are in difficult situations. Many of the visitation sites include hospitals and nursing homes.

AMOCO Federal Credit Union's mission is To Serve and Satisfy Our Members, and they have done that for more than 77 years.
