American Airlines Credit Union Awards 2013 Scholarship Recipients
Monday, June 3, 2013 6:15 AM

For nearly 10 years, American Airlines Credit Union has supported its young member-owners with scholarship award opportunities for higher education. Recently, American Airlines Credit Union (AA Credit Union) gave a very generous gift to its young member-owners with scholarship award opportunities for higher education.

This year, AA Credit Union was pleased to award a total of eight scholarships. Six high school students and two college students each received $5,000 scholarships.

The 2013 AA Credit Union Scholarship recipients were chosen out of 238 high school applicants and 92 college applicants from young member-owners across the country. Two selection committees comprised of various Credit Union staff members reviewed applications consisting of essays and listings of academic and extracurricular achievements.

“It is heartening each year to see the wide array of talented and deserving young people who apply, though it makes it a tremendous challenge for us to narrow down our recipients from a pool of such outstanding young members,” said Lori Hall, senior vice president of marketing and operations at AA Credit Union. “To know that so many accomplished young people are part of the credit union family makes us exceedingly proud to play a small part in funding their educational futures.”
