2019 SCMS ALM Tools & Techniques Workshop

Understanding the Asset/Liability Management Process

We are excited to announce that we have added an ALM Tools & Techniques Workshop on the day prior to the 2019 Mid-Year Classes for those who want a more casual environment to explore the fundamentals of ALM.  Understanding of the Asset/Liability and financial management process is core to credit union success.  This is an opportunity for students to gain a better understanding of the unique dynamics of the balance sheet and income statement in the current economic environment. Led by Deborah Rightmire, ALM & Financial Analysis Director, this workshop provides an excellent opportunity for students to enhance their knowledge of Asset/Liability Management in preparation of the Financial Management Strategic Initiative (FMSI #5).

Key learning objectives include:

  • Goals of Asset/Liability Management
  • Identification of Key Performance Ratios
  • Allowance for Loan Loss Reconciliation
  • Provision for Loan & Lease Losses
  • Liquidity management during these volatile times
  • Address topics and measures for objectives, strategies, and TAPs
