Alamo FCU Leverages Social Media to Wish Mayor Julián Castro Success in his New Post at Housing & Urban Development

Alamo FCU Thanks Mayor

As Mayor Julián Castro heads off to Washington, Alamo FCU wanted to thank him for all the hard work he did for San Antonio, and wish him the best of luck in his new position, so they made a sign to show their appreciation, took a picture in front of the Alamo, and shared the photo on Facebook.

“Julian Castro has done a great deal for this community, and staff just felt compelled to do something to let him know how much we appreciate all that he has done to enhance the quality of life in our community, and also for his support of credit unions and the important role we play in our community,” said Alamo FCU CEO John Kirk.

Castro was recently confirmed at the new secretary of Housing and Urban Development. Obama nominated Castro after Kathleen Sebelius' decision to resign as Health and Human Services secretary prompted a reshuffling of his Cabinet.

In the July 10 issue of the Leaguer, the Alamo Chapter of Credit Unions expressed their gratitude for Castro, who they say has always been a strong leader within their community, and a supporter of credit unions.
