Alamo FCU Celebrates 85 Years with Open House and Blood Drive
Tuesday, January 13, 2015 6:50 AM

Alamo Federal Credit Union is celebrating its 85th year in business. The credit union was originally created in January 1930 by 12 postal employees and has proudly served the city of San Antonio ever since.

Alamo FCU was the first credit union established in San Antonio and the 12th in the State of Texas. Today, Alamo FCU is one of the fastest-growing credit unions in the area, offering branch conveniences, concierge banking, free online banking and bill pay, mobile banking, and free access to over 55,000 ATMs nationwide.

In celebration of the anniversary, Alamo FCU is inviting the public in for free refreshments, food, giveaways, and a ribbon-cutting ceremony at its Main Branch at 6577 First Park Ten Blvd, this Friday, Jan. 16, at 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Said Alamo FCU President and CEO John F Kirk, "This is a great opportunity to meet Alamo FCU employees and board members and see the latest developments in the credit union as we celebrate this occasion."

Also to mark the achievement, Alamo FCU will have a blood drive with the South Texas Blood and Tissue Center—just one more way to support the community it serves.
