Advocacy Award Programs Won't Let your Efforts Go Unnoticed
Tuesday, January 24, 2017 7:00 AM

Just a reminder that the Cornerstone Credit Union League advocacy awards program has been updated this year to reflect the strong performance of our credit unions and their outstanding advocacy and PAC fundraising efforts.

In 2016, we introduced the Capitol and ImPACt Awards, the highest-level advocacy honors that a credit union or an individual can receive for their participation in political action fundraising and grassroots activity. These awards recognize those whose efforts have gone above and beyond in their support of advocacy at the state or federal level.

Award winners will be recognized at this year's Cornerstone League Annual Meeting in Fort Worth, April 11-13.

Capitol Award

Cornerstone recognizes credit unions that excel in their advocacy efforts via the Capitol Award program.

This award acknowledges credit unions at two levels based on their asset size; those with $50 million or less in assets and those greater than $50 million. To receive the Capitol Award, credit unions must participate in the following essential advocacy activities:

Track your progress throughout the year, using this worksheet: Capitol Award Worksheet.

ImPACt Award

Cornerstone recognizes credit union professionals who excel in their political action fundraising via the ImPACt AWARD.

The ImPACt Award recognizes individuals, credit unions, and chapters for their PAC contributions in two ways:  actual dollars contributed to their state PAC and percent of goal achieved. Below are the categories for the ImPACt Award:

  • Top Individual Contributor
  • Top Credit Union Contributor
  • Highest Percent of Goal by Chapter
  • Highest Percent of Goal by Credit Union
  • Top Chapter Contributor

The timeframe for these awards is the calendar year, January through December, and the information is tracked by the Cornerstone Advocacy department.
