Compliance Review Seminars

Documentation, Compliance & Regulatory Update on Oklahoma Accounts

Opening Share Accounts will cover all the rules regarding opening accounts in Oklahoma.  During this seminar, we cover all the documentation, IRS reporting and account card issues for 30 plus types of accounts.  We also cover information about types of identification like matricular cards, visas, gun permits and other areas of interest to credit unions.  As well as the new W-9 requirements for FACTA.  We’ve added some new accounts this year like the Veteran’s Account and minor account alone.  With special issues regarding nonresident aliens pending, we will take a look at the W-8BEN and how it should be completed. Plus many institutions received CP2100s mismatches for dividend reporting and there are ways to avoid that issue in the future.  This is the perfect blend of what’s new and what continues to challenge us as we serve our very diverse members.

Highlights include:

  • New POA statute and POA Do’s and Don’ts
  • Tax reporting issues particularly in the area of nonresident aliens
  • A solid review of the account card and what types of ownership are in Oklahoma.
  • Fiduciary Issues:  Guardianships, Estates, Trusts, UTMAs
  • Business Account documentation which changed in 2011
  • How to style names to be in compliance with the IRS for tax reporting purposes
  • New W-9 requirements for FACTA
  • Common errors on account cards and how to avoid them
  • Plus you will receive a 600+ page manual on CD with all the Oklahoma Statutes at your fingertips
