2017 Annual Meeting Brings Back Celebrated CU Talks
Tuesday, March 14, 2017 6:25 AM

Annual MeetingThe theme of the upcoming Annual Meeting, which takes place April 11-13 at the Omni Fort Worth Hotel, revolves around making a lasting impression and ensuring your legacy in the Credit Union Movement. At last year's Annual Meeting, Cornerstone introduced CU Talks, based on the award-winning TEDTalks series recognized around the world. With that terrific reception of our home-grown program and its subsequent accolades, we're bringing them back!

The CU Talks sessions will feature dynamic speakers with thought-provoking insights you can really use. Here's the lineup you won't want to miss:

  • David PetersonDavid Peterson: "How New Technology Becomes an Entitlement"
    You can recognize it when it happens. A technology becomes so ubiquitous in our society that every business relevant to that technology would have to offer it to their customers. It's become an entitlement. But how does that happen? And how fast does it occur? Join us for this this fast-paced CU Talk and learn how technology follows a time-worn path toward entitlement; find out how you can recognize those products that are likely to become entitlements in the near future.
  • Jim KaschJim Kasch: "Getting Younger—Attract, Serve, and Retain Millennial Members"
    Attracting, serving, and retaining younger members is more involved than social media and technology. Millennial consumers have redefined the relationship between consumers and financial institutions, and their influence will forever change the way we do business. Today, the average credit union member is ten years older than the average American, and every credit union needs to better serve young consumers.
  • Linda SwindlingLinda Swindling: "Destination Connection: Engage. Encourage. Enhance."
    If your goal is to say: “This is just what I needed to make powerful connections,” then this CU Talk is for you. This fun and engaging session helps you:
    • Make significant connections with experts;
    • Encourage others on their journey to influence;
    • Enhance your networks and your meeting; and
    • Connect powerfully with others.
  • Jeff RendelJeff Rendel: "50 Ideas from 50 Credit Unions in 50 States"
    50 credit unions, 50 states, 50 ideas. How do 50 unique credit unions expand revenue, scale productivity, and boost profits? These new and next ideas can help your credit union increase income, streamline delivery, and maximize your members’ experience and loyalty. The top line is the new bottom line, but only when operations are efficient and service is at its finest. These next practices from credit unions nationwide provide functioning ideas that you can implement right away, allowing your credit union to continue moving forward for its members.
