Monday, May 16, 2016 7:00 AM

“If you want to build wealth, first build a wealth of knowledge.”
~ Author Jeffrey Gittomer

Financial literacy is a high priority for Fort Sill Federal Credit Union, a 60-year-old credit union with branches in Fort Sill and Lawton, Oklahoma. In the past year, requests from the community for FSFCU financial education seminars has doubled, so in April, aligning with National Credit Union Youth Month, FSFCU conducted financial literacy training in their community.

On Saturday, April 16, employees of FSFCU held their annual Youth Workshop and taught youths about budgeting and the value of saving early.

FSFCU gave three separate seminars at the Lawton Public Library for Money Smart Week. Those seminars focused on personal finance, retirement, and debt solutions.

Finally, FSFCU hosted numerous seminars for local schools and youth centers to teach the importance of saving and basic money management skills.

FSFCU intends to continue providing financial literacy education to their community.
