1st University CU CEO Praises CUNA's Small CU Community
Friday, March 17, 2017 6:45 AM

CUNA has officially launched the CUNA Small Credit Union Community, an online platform that will allow small credit union professionals nationwide to network, share ideas, and solve problems collectively.

Similar to the existing online communities, the site offers a discussion board on which credit union professionals can ask and answer questions and access a file library with easy-to-use, small credit union-specific resources, including a powerful, no-cost custom peer comparison tool.

Gary Parker, president/CEO of 1st University Credit Union in Waco, Texas, said he's really excited about the system. "In addition to the networking and other resources available within the Community, I've been really impressed with the Peer Profile Report, which allows credit unions to create an instant peer-to-peer analysis using up to six credit unions," he said. Parker, who serves as vice-chair on CUNA's Small Credit Union Committee has had many opportunities to use it. "It's a great report for boards of directors."

"This is an excellent resource for small credit unions," said Cornerstone VP Small Credit Union Development Lorri Gaither, who is also impressed with the Peer Profile Report. “The report is a convenient supplement to Cornerstone’s customized Personal Performance Report and the Peer-to-Peer ratio reports that credit unions can obtain from their league representatives. And it's so quick and simple to use."

Since launching in 2015, CUNA Communities has attracted more than 10,000 members. Roughly 500 users access the site on a daily basis and view nearly 6,300 pages per week. The site also has seen tens of thousands of file downloads.
